We had a great party on Friday with our whole pod. What a fun time. The decorations looked great, the food was superb, and the friends and guests had a great time.
Thank you to everyone who brought food and drink. We had so much that we had left-overs! I will say though, there were no empty bellies. Everyone had their fill, including Principal Mme. Krystyna, Vice-Principal Mme. Katy, our Resource Teacher, Mrs. Kraus, and others who dropped by.
Thank you so much for those parents who dropped off some amazing foods. The chicken dishes were incredible, and Edward's lasagna was a hit! We had Sri Lankan Bubble Tea, home-made sausage, noodles galore, and scrumptious samosas (I sneaked a few of them home).
The whole pod enjoyed the variety of food that we are so fortunate to have had.
Thank you to Mme. Bedard and Mme. Coolen for all their hard work in helping prepare and decorate the pod. They also had fun in the afternoon with some Just Dance going on, some board games, and I was in the gym with some students as they played handball. They worked off the lunch they had with some exercise.
Thank you Division One for doing such a great job and coming through, once again, to show how awesome you are.
I'll be honest, on the Wednesday before the presentations, I was nervous. I was concerned that groups would not be prepared in time for the groups of students from other classes who would be coming through to see the work of Division One, but it was all for naught...Division One students pulled through, yet again! What a great job they did of preparing wonderful displays on the Science unit we just finished.
We had five other classes come through to see the displays as our class gave great presentations they had prepared to teach the others. I was really impressed and am very proud of their work. You guys did a super job!

Again, Division One did an amazing job of helping out in the Winter Concert. Avneet and Olivia were runners for Mrs. Mota, the whole class prepared decorations, including a great tree by Shawn, some wonderful candy canes from Surinder and Jesse (sorry if I missed someone...Rishi?), and fancy snowflakes for the backdrop on the stage. We had a great time with our buddy class, Division 14 and Mrs. Ward, singing Silver and Gold, an oldie from Burl Ives.
Division One made beautiful ornaments with our little buddies that they hung on the tree during the performance. I hope you all got to see it. How cute the little ones were as they were guided up the steps and to the tree by their bid buddies. Thanks Division One, you did it again!
As a little side-note, Mrs. Ward and I participated in the Penguin Dance with other staff members. It was so much fun. Thanks to those wacky folks who talked me into it.
Thank you all for making this time at Douglas so wonderful. All the students and their parents have made me feel so welcome. I can't express enough how grateful I am to be at such an amazing school. Thank you all for the thoughtful gifts, cards and sentiments. Thank you to the parents for your time and efforts. Your children are so great.
Happy Holidays to each and every one of you, safe travels to those heading abroad, and may you families experience joy and peace.
All the best,
